Oriole Remodel
Preserving the Past – A Thoughtful Remodel of Oriole Cabin
Overlooking the pasture, the Oriole cabin has recently been updated. Oriole now has two separate bedrooms, the master with a king bed and the second bedroom with two twins. For years, JoAnn, Briar Patch’s owner, wanted to create a second bedroom, allowing for more privacy and functionality.
This is now ideal for families with kids or friends traveling together.
In addition to creating a second bedroom, the bathroom is also expanded and updated. With formal training in design and decades of experience in historic restorations, JoAnn’s number one priority is always to preserve the rustic charm and feel of each individual cabin. Utilizing reclaimed wood allows for the original patina to be maintained, seamlessly blending in with the rest of this 80 year old cabin.
Once the work has been completed, it is now where JoAnn’s true expertise and joy lies. She begins to adorn the room with vintage furnishings—an antique dresser, and a handmade rug in southwestern colors. Now her final touches are in place, Oriole is once again ready to welcome guests for generations to come.
