Briar Patch Inn Newsletter: Summer 2013

Dear Friends,

It is with great excitement and appreciation that we share with you our first Briar Patch Newsletter. Once per season, we would like to share with you the details of our quiet, cozy inn via this newsletter. You have received this because you have stayed with us in the past and shared your email. If you prefer to no longer receive this letter, follow the blue link at the top or bottom of this email to unsubscribe. We hope however, that you do choose to remain with us; from our nature-oriented setting to the lyrical sounds of Oak Creek, we have much to share as the seasons change.

In our effort to provide ease with your reservation experience, you can now book online.

All the best,
The Briar Patch Family

Camp Soaring Eagle Returns

In the first week of August, Briar Patch will once again open its doors to Camp Soaring Eagle, a non-profit dedicated to providing meaningful, fun-filled, medically supervised camp experiences to children living with serious illnesses. This will be our fourth year of dedicating our entire property to this special cause. As one of many camp providers, we host the Oncology Family Retreat, giving these children along with their families, a chance to experience a burden-free week away from hospitals. Daytime activities include archery, golf, Pink Jeep Tours, and nature and wildlife education. Evenings are occupied with BINGO, magic shows, and yo-yo exhibitions. Of the several arts and crafts activities, the highlight for the children is getting to paint the totem pole of courage. During the closing ceremony, we raise the pole of courage where we recognize the tremendous strength that these kids possess in dealing with their life-threatening illnesses. Each year these children leave their mark on the Briar Patch and in our hearts.

Upon your next visit, please take a moment to visit the lower garden and see these great works of art!
