Briar Patch Inn Wedding Policy
The lush natural oasis of the Briar Patch Inn creates an ideal setting for your intimate wedding ceremony. We welcome your inquiries and would be delighted to answer any questions. We look forward to helping you create a wedding day that is everything you dream of and more.

*If Ponderosa is used, it must be rented at the normal rate. However, Ponderosa can be rented as the required cottage rental for elopements or one of the two or three cottage rentals required for small weddings.
Our guidelines for weddings create a natural sanctuary for your ceremony while minimizing the impact on our grounds and other guests in residence. These guidelines are detailed in our wedding contract. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
Choosing locations on the property:
Tall hand-carved doors lead you into a cozy, unique and private hideaway enclosed on three sides by hand sculptured river rock walls. Once inside the walls, the gazebo is completely open to the rambling spring-fed waters, boulders and trees creating a private creek side sanctuary. Perfect for wedding ceremonies up to 15 persons.
: An open and expansive terrace, directly on the creek adjacent to the gardens and grounds.
A large, meadow-like grass area completely surrounded by trees. It sits on a private area of the grounds about 150 feet from the creek.
: Our largest cottage, which offers a unique and very private, enclosed setting for weddings. It can easily seat 25 for a ceremony. It has an expansive living room with a vaulted ceiling, dining room, two fireplaces, a large full kitchen, 4 bedrooms and two and a half baths. Ponderosa can also be rented as the required cottage rental for elopements or one of the two or three cottages that are required for small weddings.
Other Important Information:
If you choose a creek side location for your ceremony, the Ivy and Acorn Cottages are the preferred rentals. They are directly next to the Creek Side Terrace and the Gazebo, which gives you immediate access to the area and maintains privacy for our other guests in residence.
: To ensure a clear understanding by all parties, all of our wedding bookings must be made in person with an on-sight tour. During the meeting we will outline a thorough, detailed plan to insure that your wedding day is created the way you would like it to be, and the details and follow through will be implemented as smoothly and efficiently as possible by the responsible parties. Once we have mutually agreed to the details, Briar Patch will provide a written contract. Upon signing, we require a 50% deposit of wedding fees and a first night deposit on cottage rentals in order to secure your reservations. The remainder of the wedding fees and cottage rentals will be due at checkout time.
Prior to 14 days: If cancellations are made 14 days prior to your arrival date, your deposit for cottage rentals will be refunded (less a $25 per cottage cancellation fee). Wedding fees will be refunded less a 10% cancellation fee or can be transferred to a future date.
Less than 14 days: If cancellations are made less than 14 days prior to your arrival date, your deposit for cottage rentals (less a $25 per cottage cancellation fee) will be refunded only if we are able to re-rent the cottage(s) for the full reserved time period. If we are not able to re-rent the cottage(s) for the full reserved time period, you will be responsible for the full amount of all vacant nights. Wedding fees will be refunded less a 25% cancellation fee or can be transferred to a future date.
: We are happy to assist you with catering, rentals, flowers, décor, & clean up which we can discuss in detail during your visit with us.
We have limited parking spaces available on the property. We can suggest carpool options and shuttle services.
We have limited reception here. Please consider that you may not be able to receive your calls through your cell phones while you are on the property.
Yoga in the Lower Garden
 On Saturday and Sunday mornings in June through September, guests and townspeople alike experience yoga in the unbeatable setting of the Briar Patch’s lush, natural oasis.
Instructors exhibit peaceful guidance as they lead the class through a self-nurturing, stress reducing routine that is balanced for all ages.
To top off the glorious setting and rejuvenating routine, the yoga class at Briar Patch has a truly unique quality…The musical sounds of Oak Creek join in harmony with live classical jazz and guitar, by our resident musicians Lyra, as they accompany the creek side daily buffet style breakfast. The symphony of nature and fine music adds a remarkable calm over the gardens. This truly is a yoga experience like no other.
