We just completed another Camp Soaring Eagle Oncology retreat here at Briar Patch, and everyone had just the best time ever. We want to thank all those who helped make this past week so memorable for the children and their families. Pink Jeep, Arizona Sunrays Gymnastics, Red Rock Quilters, Allie Ollie Boutique, the massage therapists, the hair dressers and make-up ladies, and all the amazing volunteers and camp staff who made it possible! There was lots of love and laughter shared among everyone, and we are thrilled to be a part of making the challenges you face seem a little more distant for a few days. We send home to all of you our very best wishes and hope to welcome each of you back sometime.
The only way to beat the heat this summer is to jump into Briar Patch’s beautiful and serene swimming hole in Oak Creek. After you have worked up an appetite from swimming we have wonderful grills around the property that are perfect to cook up your favorite meal in celebration of the holiday! At the end of the day you can enjoy a beautiful Sedona sunset from your private porch, our grassy courtyard or our pleasant hammocks. We look forward to hearing from you!
Come visit us at the Briar Patch Inn for our delicious breakfast and live music every Thursday through Sunday! We now have the amazing duet called Lyra playing once again for their 26th season and my, what a treat it is! While June warms up, more of us are wanting to jump into the cool and refreshing Oak Creek and find shade under the beautiful Sycamores, Cottonwoods and Pines while enjoying a good book or picnic. The fish are jumping, the sun is shining and the trails are calling out to all our hikers. It couldn’t be any better in this month of June. Come join us for this Father’s day, Sunday June 21 for breakfast or a stay! Let the summer commence!
Mother’s day is upon us this Sunday May 10th and many wonderful restaurants will be having Mother’s Day brunches and dinners. We look forward to those that will be celebrating here with us at Briar Patch Inn, and we look to make sure your stay is relaxing, refreshing, and rejuvenating!
Come and join us at the Briar Patch Inn for Easter weekend April 5th! We will have a fun and delightful Easter egg hunt for the children and a REAL live Easter bunny to meet and greet with families! We are getting into full swing of the spring season and are enjoying every bit of sunshine along with the nice, refreshing breeze and the sweet scents of flowers and new vegetation. It is even warm enough that some guests are starting to bring their delicious breakfast outside by the Oak Creek where they can listen to the water flow over the rocks and the birds serenade one another. Our sheep, Wooly and Lily, are also shedding their winter coats of wool and getting them shaved off so they can be ready to show off their new fit and “spring” bodies. We hope you all will come and stop by to visit us this Easter!
“After” pictures of Wooly and Lily in their new “spring bodies”!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We feel like St. Patrick himself has touched the Briar Patch with his green thumb because everywhere we look there is natural green growth sprouting up from all places around the property! The wild storms have left Sedona well soaked and the plants, trees and flowers are ready to blossom and show theirs wonderful colors. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Sedona will be holding its 45th Annual Parade and Festival and there will be many fun activities, great food and delightful entertainment. The creek will be heating up as well and the amount outdoor activities will only increase from here on out, so bring the family and we can help you come up with a list of wonderful, exciting and adventurous ideas to do with the family out in the sun! These next few months are very busy here at the Briar Patch Inn, so call ahead or go online to book your reservation.
We were recently graced with the presence of the two wonderful musicians that make up the duo of Freddy and Francine. You have heard their CD playing here at the Briar Patch Inn or played it yourself in your cottage. Their show was amazing and their talents venture far and wide! If you have not heard them yet take a look at their website. We have added a video of their performance below for your enjoyment!
We have the whole 9 acres of the Briar Patch adorned with beautiful white snow, icicles hanging off each of the cabins and fires roaring in the fireplaces to cozy up to. In honor of the winter season and in addition to our regular yummy refreshments we now have delicious hot apple cider to keep you warm and put in you in the joyous holiday spirit!
Thank you all for making 2014 a great year and we very much look forward to this New Year of 2015 and to see new and old faces. The Briar Patch Staff wish you all many blessing and love in this New Year of 2015!

“My daughter, Peri, called to tell me that her friend Vine, a “fabulous cook”, served this quiche with salmon, rice and a green salad at a dinner party. Peri was so “right on!” to recommend this recipe for a breakfast offering at the Briar Patch, it is a favorite!”
Often when we interact with our guests, they ask, “Why don’t you write a book about your experiences at Briar Patch, and please include your recipes.” For a while that idea had been resting quietly in a corner of my mind when suddenly one morning inspiration swelled up within me, and I said to myself, “You can do it.” So it is with pleasure that we introduce, The Life and Times of the Briar Patch Inn. We hope you enjoy our story.
